Heyoooo check out what I found tucked away in storage!
I originally collected this way back in 2019. It was going to be a gift for @(โขLuunaathhโsstrreiiiโข) as she was originally planning to visit my area sometime in 2020. Of course we all know what happened to those plans.
But I still have it, and someday I hopefully can finally give it to you Luunaa!
Turns out itโs difficult to get good pictures of opals, though here are my opal doublets! These are some of my favorite things for my draconic ass to stare at continually.
I pulled this out of a completely random pack of Pokémon evolving skies a week agoโฆ.

I had the box containing the packs of cards sealed in my room for months and I randomly decided to open it since I didnโt have room to keep it sealed anymore. I canโt believe I found this
Those were our favorite when we collected pokémon cards
We had a 'purple Pikachu' that was sparkly in Japanese with the 'pocket monsters' logo that we loved
I still collect Pokémon cards and I still sometimes open packs of Pokémon cards since itโs fun! Though, opening the pack I got that Umbreon in was definitely worth every cent!
Occult books I was basically interested in just for reading and extend my knowledge in research on occult communities around dragons / who have mainly dragons in them. For years I am doing research on that topic, when dragons first occured, when dragonkins first appeared, and the like. I hope I can share it one day, currently writing every now and then on a book whenever I have time just for notes yet.

And so my hoard of such hard to get books grows, I have books about dragons from 1912, from 1840 and before.... I like to have as much as I can original sources, learn occasionally old norse to read original sources in norse mythology directly, and so on.... It's a long journey I haven't told many about.
Oh wow, that is an incredible and ambitious project! I wish you well with it!

Also this semitranslucent egg crystal that does neat things with the light when wet. ...I have no idea what it's made of. Got it a at a gem and mineral thingy a while back, where it was billed, if I'm not mistaken, as a "dragon egg."

I would share hoard photos, but it's regrettably packed up at the moment. [Thanks, Ian!]
If I find some old ones laying around my phone I'll share 'em tonight!
I vaguely recall that the guy I got mine from had a whole bunch submerged in water in a plastic bucket. It only opalesces when it's wet. Also, it's rough, not polished smooth.
I think that's a neat way of doing it. Like, there's kind of a secret to it.
Forgot to mention this before but I also have some gemstone necklaces shaped like eastern dragons, the metal quality is admittedly not very great because it tarnishes very easily but hey, dragon necklaces
According to the seller, these are (from left to right): ametrine, rock crystal quartz, & opal
IDK much abut jewelry in general (not to mention I'm not a native English speaker), so I dunno if tarnish is the right word because the metal (mostly the chain) degrades easily the more I wear it, to the point where I had to replace the chains with stainless steel before it stains more of my white shirts

I suspect it's because I sweat a lot, I live in a tropical area
Aahh. Tarnish in English refers to the metal discoloring. Like Silver turns black, copper turns green. Another word is Oxidized, because it's exposure to oxygen that causes it. I have a silver coin that turned partially black before I vacuum sealed it.
However if it's breaking down physically, that isn't tarnish and you're right then that it is a low quality chain. Probably zinc if I were to guess, it's a very soft metal and breaks down easily under the stress of wearing jewelry made from it unless it's fairly thick.
IIRC the old chains initially changed colors to a darker color (black or dark brown) in the span of a few days and later started having an obvious metallic odor. I initially didn't bother changing the chains until I discovered brown stains around the neck part of my shirts, kinda like rust, maybe it really is rust idk

Huh, I checked the seller's page for that necklace, it says "Material: Natural Stone + Copper Fittings"
Yeah, the chains could be anything but it certainly is low quality. The part holding the stone? Not so much, it does turn a darker color but not as fast as the chains
