Yeah that sounds a bit like how whales communicate, they can communicate certain sounds that can refer to themselves or to specific others, it's not quite names but it's something similar
We had a writing system and spoken language, though it was heavily tied to music. If there are any Brandon Sanderson fans here, it was much like the Parshendi language from Stormlight Archive in rhythmic notations, though instead of emotional distinction, it was tensing.

Trying to decide how to transpose into an anglicized medium homonyms which differ through duotones is! Difficult!
Oh the language i used in my past life was heavily connected to music too, our writing system was more like how you'd write sheet music, it had a pitch line that showed how you would speak a sentence and we'd string conversations together into something similar to songs
I'll probably be bad at keeping up because work, but on the topic of communication I can't remember if it was "dragon culture" to have names or not since we hatched without parents around. The name we went by was given to us by our human friend at the time.
We talked to humans in english but idk if it was telepathic or verbal. We definitely didn't have a written language tho
music... that would be an interesting method of language... I mean, music is sort of its own language of sorts anyway, but for it to have verbal meaning of words/ideas, that's... hmmmmm... heck of a thought

I had it once during a hypnotherapy session, that I - out of the blue - saw myself in my dragon form laying on a mountainside and I just had to start crying of the bat, as it gave such intense feelings
(And yes, I definitely feel like I landed in this spot because of my Draconity. I love to guide younger souls towards a goal they can grow in. Humans (and Otherkin!) need some gentle pushing towards their rightful spot in the world, haha.)(edited)
I try my best. And thankfully my students always appreciate it.

I always felt the need to guide newly awakened Otherkin to show them around in this community and answer any and all questions. It's funny I stuck to that, made it broader and decided to make it my job.
Haha so for those who don't know, a seven legged male octopus is always at the end of it's life because, mating is fatal for octopi and one of those tentacles is detached during that process. I really don't wanna think that the dwayne the rock johnson octopus is. yeah
been wondering a bit... the drawing going to be shared some sort of way, so those that couldn't see the stream get to see how the final design made out?
My gosh this drawing is getting incredibly detailed, I had no idea you intended to do such a full piece from our build-a-derg game! I figured it'd be a speed-paint. I am impressed.
lmao I have zero plan. I just wanted to try that panel, and then, well. If I were the one in the audience, we'd have three head dragon without neck and maybe four sets of wings, maybe no tail, only hind legs. Or some crazy variation. I donno, dragon art and me has always been, chaos

I'm rambling

no I mean, I had no plan to go either way. yeah, that's it
