Normal meditation techniques do not work for me. This seems to be a similar issue for you? If so, i learned a different type than the normal one from a Buddhist Temple my and my brother in law used to frequent.
First, get comfortable, sitting up somehow. You dont need to dot he yoga pose, kneeling, etc. just sitting up and being comfortable works. At the temple, we did this in complete silence, but it's not a requirement, just usually more helpful than not.
After you're set, instead to trying to clear you mind, like normal, instead try and seek acceptance. Open your mind, and let your thoughts, feelings, and sensations flow through you, unaided. However, do not "latch onto" any of these, do not focus on them. Just allow them to enter and leave at their whim.
Once you feel like you're in control of that state (rather, not in control, pre se) direct your senses to an extreme of your body. Head, feet, etc. doesnt matter where you start. Do this "direction" in the same format as above, without control, allowing your mind to wander at whim. Just allow that part of your body to feel on it's own. Once you have, move up/down a little. Then again. Repeat until you've covered your whole body, piece by piece.
I start from my head down, usually. However, i rarely get far, as this rapidly gets me to a point where i'm crossing over into my other half's consciousness, and i begin experiencing my homeworld around me.
